Our iconic Maine-made Boat and Tote, now in an open-top size for tote lovers! Similar to our Small tote, but taller, with handles that fit comfortably over your shoulder. Still crafted in Maine, one tote at a time.
Introduced as Bean's Ice Carrier way back in 1944, the Boat and Tote was billed as a bag made of builders' canvas for hauling ice "from car to ice chest." Today you can spot our iconic tote doing heavy lifting everywhere - from the grocery store to the beach, to the library and commuter train. Tested to hold up to 500 pounds, it'll carry more than you can carry. We promise.

Bag book smaller then expected
When I ordered this, I thought it was the standard small bag and it was much smaller so I was disappointed, but will keep it and use it for other smaller items.

Great quality tote
This is a nice tote to grab when you need to bring a few things. Also perfect for a pair of shoes or slippers. Very pleased with it and I have many LL Bean totes in all different sizes!
