Built with rugged British Millerain waxed cotton, renowned for shedding damp, cold weather since the 1880s. It will gain a vintage patina as it ages, becoming better looking the more you wear it.

Dust Collector
It collects a lot of dust and small particles and needs to be wiped down every day to remove. Cannot wash jacket.

I Love This Coat
This coat fit every stipulation I had - hand warmer pockets, inside pocket, flap pockets, thigh length, warm, hooded and water resistant. This thing stands in defiance of mother nature, breaking the gnarly, icy, cutting Boston winds and reducing them to a strong breeze. Sure, it attracts lint, but the way the sleet bounces off the waxed surface leaving me as warm and dry as a baked potato in the oven is a fine trade off. Hope this thing lasts a lifetime. I can certainly fit a nice sweater under this coat if I need to but it hasn't been necessary yet.

Too tight in shoulders
Nice warm coat and I liked the length. I have three other LL Bean winter coats that fit just fine. This one was too tight in the shoulders so I returned it.

Perfect winter jacket
Was on the hunt for a down jacket with a sturdy exterior- one that would withstand the elements while choring. It has not disappointed. The attached hood is my favorite, no snaps! The fit is perfect. I’m 5’ 7” and got a small based on the size chart hoping to have extra room for bulky wool sweaters underneath.
