Too HOT!!
I wanted an all-cotton short sleeve shirt with two pockets for the summer. Unfortunately, this shirt is VERY HOT and does not breath at all. It's almost like it was made from polyester. It's fine indoors where's there's A/C but a total sweat box otherwise.
I like the looks and fit.

Sleeves too short
I like the material of the shirt, but as is typical of LLBean shirts, the short sleeves are about an inch too short for my tastes.

A shirt that solved some problems
I had to try this shirt soon after I saw that it joined the offerings. The shirt is designed very similar to the "lake washed" cotton canvas shirts that have been a part of my summers for several years. However, this new shirt solved two problems I had with the cotton canvas. Most importantly, this new "ripstop" shirt seems designed to prevent the stress holes at the pocket corners over time. Also, this new shirt is hemmed to just the right length for wearing it untucked. The cotton canvas shirts were too long for that, in my opinion.
All in all, I do love the fit and feel of this new material, especially after it's first washing. It feels light and summery yet tough and strong. I love the pocket flaps that keep stuff from sliding out of my pockets any time I happen to bend over. And the pocket corners will not let go and develop holes, so I should be able to wear it for a good long time.
I hope that the shirt stays in the line up, but with more color offerings. A dark blue and some kind of muted red would be good additions.

Bought 6 - Returned All
I bought these hoping that they were a good replacement for the discontinued Bean Flex untucked shirts.
They are made of much thinner material and they feel cheaper. The breast pocket is sewn all the way down for a pen so putting a phone there is out. I wore 2 of them multiple times and tried to get used to them but they're just not the quality I expect from LL Bean.
