Design flaw
I received this bag yesterday and was so excited to finally see it in person. Based on other reviews, I knew it would be a 'love it or hate it' piece; for me, I did like it. However, a significant quality issue surfaced when I tried to attach the long strap. The hook is simply too small for the leather loop. To get it on, I’d have to either force-bend the leather or risk scratching it with the metal. For a bag at this price point, that’s unacceptable. While I don’t strictly need the long strap, this flaw definitely impacts the overall quality and usability. I’m torn because I really like the bag, but I’m disappointed by this oversight. I hope the brand addresses this for future buyers.

Beautiful craftsmanship, but didn't look real
This bag is everything I wanted in a leather tote & lives up to LL Bean's standards for craftmanship. However, if you're looking for a timeless leather bag that will age well with a classic vintage, fine grain look, this is NOT the bag for you. I'm so sad to send it back, but I agree with the other reviewers that say the bag LOOKS like high-quality vinyl or other synethic leather. It truly looks like fake leather.

Sad but its the times! Leather low grade
My large tote from 25 years ago still looks like new! The leather yrs ago is so buttery! Stitching (doubled or maybe triple) all leather does not match up! Lose here and there! I furnished a whole house from clothes,kayats,kichen ware ect ect and the bathtowels you discontinued you my color! Rugs,towels monogramed were like $700"00 cannot get my cotton rugs any longer! My houseshoes tear on toe in months! What has happened to you all? Willing to pay more to get what the value used to be! No more pj's for my 4 grandkids with slippers. They fall apart in a few uses. Where are your INSPECTORS! Miss buying from you all!
