Not the same Cresta !
I am not able to wear these boots. Even though I ordered a half size larger than my old Cresta hikers, the tongue and ankle design is so tight I can barely get my feet into the boots. And the back of the ankle section is taller and stiffer than the original design. I can barely walk in the boots and there is no way I would be able to drive in them as my ankles are held rigid with pressure on the back of my legs. I am so disappointed.

Incredibly Stable Boot
I’ve worked in construction for 30 years. I’ve hiked the trails of Western NC for 55 years. Whether I am stepping up onto a slick trailer or a steep rock these boots hold. Zero slipping. Believe me, I have tried every boot out there … these are the most trustworthy boots you can put on your feet.
They are a little stiff out of the box but within a week or so (worn daily) they feel perfect.
Exceptionally true to size.
My 3rd pair did not hold up as well as my 1st pair. I believe they may have changed the glue. The soles literally came off. (Just being honest.). I had to duct tape one on to finish out my workday.
Exceptionally waterproof.
I wish they would bring back the tan suede ones. I only had to brush them off to clean them. They looked great with everything and felt a little more ladylike (less manly). They also did not scratch up like the brown leather does.
Still an excellent boot. Highly recommend trying them on your favorite trail.

Not waterproof
I used to love these boots, have purchased pairs since 2009 or so and used to highly recommend them. However, now the leather is such poor quality on the ones I bought last summer. The boots scuffed easily while hiking but I hadn't been hiking in wet conditions until last month when I was hiking in wet grass and my boots became completely waterlogged. Sad because these boots are comfortable but just aren't usable for outdoor hiking in wet weather.
