Fit and comfort is Great. They are nowhere near waterproof!
Purchased as a work shoe for wear in a plant nursery. These shoes leak like a sieve. I am not happy with the purchase, nor would I recommend for use under any kind of wet conditions.

Great fit and feel walking. True to stated size. Bonus that they are also waterproof. My ones from 18 years ago are starting to wear out!

Very nice hiking shoe but the size 13 runs large.
I wear a full size 13 shoe in a medium width. When I tried these shoes on they felt loose even after adjusting the laces. I removed the footbed and compared it to my comfortable size 13 orthotics that I use in all my shoes from Happy Feet (blue in photo). This shoe is the same width but more than a 1/2" longer, (gray in photo). I purchased a pair of slip on shoes from LL Bean and had the same problem, fit is one size too big. It is a good looking shoe and seems well made but the 13 run one size too big. I am returning these and reordering a size 12. I hope that's not too small.

The heel lining always come apart
I have owned several pairs of LL Bean waterproof hiking shoes, and I'm never buying another pair. They feel very sturdy and are exceptionally waterproof, but they all have the same fatal flaw - the lining inside the heel/collar always bursts open and comes apart. On the recent pair that I purchased, I decided to be very careful when putting on and removing the shoes, and the collar lining is is starting to fail after approximately two months. I don't recommend these shoes at all.

Great for hiking and walking.
This is like my 6th pair of these hiking shoes. I like the fit. They feel great on my feet and keep my feet dry in wet conditions. I wear them for less strenuous hiking, path hiking and general walking. I wear the higher version when hiking more seriously. These are well worth the cost. I get a half size up and have a wide foot.
