Garden clogs - good quality, but ...
I bought these garden clogs two or three weeks ago. The quality is good and they are comfortable to walk around on the flat surfaces of my yard. I did try them on in the store and walked around, and they seemed okay. However, my yard is not flat. Because the back of the clog is low, it doesn't keep my foot steady when I walk uphill or sideways on the hill. I have been wearing them, so I think I will keep them for something, but I will need to get something that is better for my feet on uneven and hilly ground. I wonder why they didn't make the back of the heel higher. I can't say that I either recommend them or not. They are just not right for my situation. I buy LLBean products fairly frequently, and this is the first time I've had an issue with anything. LL Bean products are generally excellent. Thank you.

This Wellie is not the same garden clog I bought 20+ years ago. It has been re-styled with a higher platform sole and is heavier. Why change something if it isn't broke?

I really like these shoes. I do not agree with the reviews saying they are “heavy” shoes. They are slip-on, but they are not slippers. They are well made shoes with well made soles, not bedroom slippers. I can confidently walk my dogs in dewy grass/uphill/downhill. If you plan to wear these barefoot/with thin socks, yes, buy a half size smaller because your heel will come out. I wear thick socks normally and they fill the gaps comfortably. I’m keeping the size I bought because of my region’s weather fluctuations. Very glad I bought these!
