Perfect Fit Pants; Perfectly Useless
I’ve been buying these pants—and the bootcut version—for years. But what happened to the quality that used to define L.L.Bean?
First the price went up. Then the quality went down. The fabric changed. The manufacturing country changed. And the craftsmanship has absolutely tanked. Waistbands roll after washing. Two pairs have ripped at the waist. And now the pockets—if you’re going to acknowledge that women’s clothing needs real pockets, at least take the time to design ones that are functional and well made.
Meanwhile, my “Perfect Fit” pants from 15 years ago are still going strong—just a little faded. The newer pairs? Already falling apart.
Generations of my family have shopped at L.L.Bean. We used to make special trips to Maine just to visit the store. But lately, item after item has left us disappointed. It’s heartbreaking to say it, but that loyalty has worn thin.
What a shame.

Great Pants but Need Some Modifications!
I really love these pants but the ML length has very long rise. Even though I need a long length, I don't need a long rise. Also, the leg width has gotten wider than the other two pair I own. Someone in PD needs to pay attention to this. Can't imagine I am the only one asking for this.

I love these but had to hem significantly. I would like to order 1 or 2 more pairs in same size — Petite. My inseam is 27in.
