Bad Zipper; Not Very Warm
I bought this coat a few years ago, and I just want to let shoppers know that this coat looks nice, but the zipper DOES NOT LAST. I have to shimmy in and out of this coat, either over my head or under my feet, due to the poor-quality of the zipper (teeth have fallen out at the bottom and now the zipper gets stuck, or spontaneously opens (due to my luck typically in the biting wind)). Up until now, I have purchased all of our family's coats from LL Bean, but we have had problems with every single such winter coat. Most of them aren't even very warm! For example, this "Ultrawarm" coat is not very warm at all. Bad zipper + not warm = not recommended.

Great coat
I walk along the Great South Bay every morning and I wanted a longer coat to keep my legs warm. I ordered the medium regular… fit well but a little too long so I had it hemmed 3-4 inches.. I’m 5’2” I walked today and I was toasty warm.. like my new coat.

The one I keep coming back for
I have bought four of these through the years, and coming back for another. I get petite and the length of the coat and arms is perfect. Its not tight in the shoulders. I find it keeps me warm for my uses, even in bitter windy weather. I wouldn't mind a little shaping in the waist or some fleece lining, but it's really just perfect the way it is.

Buying my THIRD!!!
I received this coat 10 years ago as a gift. I live in the snow belt of northeast Ohio - a very cold part of the country! I loved the coat in black so much that I bought another one in chocolate brown three years ago. Now that the black has faded with time, I buying a new black one this year! I have had so many compliments on this coat over the years. Especially women who comment on how WARM my coat looks as they’re freezing with their legs completely exposed! I have lots of other coats but when it’s really cold, this coat is my only choice!!!

Great Coat, except for the Velcro
I have depended on LLBean for quality coats and jackets for decades. I'm still wearing my warmup jackets that were purchased 50 years ago. Amazingly they still look like new. Love that!
This coat is warm and comfortable. I appreciate the extra length for cold, windy days and that it is machine washable. Other than the velcro on the flaps of the hood, it is nicely constructed. My experience has been that velcro on clothing is ALWAYS problematic. It sticks to everything and snags the fabric that sticks to. I messed up one brand new sweater already with the velcro on this coat.
