For nearly 90 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.
- Each color is carefully matched to the historical tartans in the Scottish registry.

This was not the colors I was expecting
I bought 10 of these for family to be Christmas presents to update everyone's family color shirts. These are not what I wanted or expected. The colors are so muted compared to what we used to have. We have always bought from ll bean and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. I re checked my order and the website to see if I just needed to switch them out for a darker version but the washed version is the only thing show as available. Pictures should be updated of what the shirts look like. Because the stock photo is the same as what it was for the shirts we used to buy. Which didn't give me any pause to repurchase these as I thought to colors would be the same. Attached photo so you can see how different the color really is. New shirt that just came in is on the left, old shirt is on the right.

Finally found flawlessness
Great shirt. My husband really likes them. A little pricey for us....but it's worth it. Bought in a tall because he likes them long. Got XL but could have gotten away with a large. I think they are true to size though. Heavy material but not too thick. The last one he had was nice too but had to throw it away because the right elbow wore out. Unfortunately that was the only thing wrong with it.

OVERSIZED
I love the soft texture and pattern of this light flannel shirt however it is too large compared to what I buy elsewhere. I'll try a size down to hopefully find the correct fit.

A Beloved School-Age Favorite
This old favorite was broken-in after one wash: the flannel softened like the favorite pillow case from your 4th-grade bedroom. The plaid calls out from every year of high school through college.
