The original L.L.Bean Boot, made in Maine since 1912.
- With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order 1½ size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8. With heavyweight socks: Whole sizes, order your normal size. Half sizes, order one size down. Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 9.
The original Maine Hunting Shoe was Leon Leonwood Bean's first product, introduced in 1912. Over the years, we've made lots of improvements to these boots, but hunters have told us that they miss the moccasin-like feel that our original boots had in the woods. So we set out to bring it back.

Comfortable and practical
The boots are very comfortable and I wear them constantly, I even forget that I am in boots! My foot do not get wet and they do not sweat as badly as they did in my previous rubber boots. I like the higher boots because I do not worry as much walking through the fields with these. I am enjoying them completely!

Kept my feet dry!

Most comfortable boot
This is the lightest, most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned. I’ve so far used them for walking 2 miles every morning on a diet and gravel road, hiking around my wooded property making brush piles and general purpose wear. They are fantastic! They’re holding up well in all conditions and are incredibly comfortable. It feels like I’m wearing almost nothing on my feet and the sensation of ground through the soles is almost like being barefoot. I can feel sticks and rocks under the leaf litter easily (but without the pain going barefoot would cause!). These are a must own if you are working in the woods, hiking, or even just walking on unpaved roads. I highly, highly recommend them!

Half Sizes
Great all-around outdoor shoe and super comfortable—I especially love that it’s designed for warm weather too. Would love to see half sizes since although my normal size is 8.5, 7 was too small and 8 is a bit big even after following the size guide.
