Very disappointed that the side water container holders are so low on the back. As long time customers, who has only gotten my kids book bags from LL Bean, very disappointed to buy your most expensive/largest size and my kids standard 24 oz water bottles fall out.

Why are the side pockets so short?
My older son’s LLBean back pack has lasted all through middle school and is ready for high school. I got my younger son this style to start middle school so it wouldn’t be exactly the same style. The side pockets are so short the LLBean Nalgene water bottle I bought to go with it falls out all day. You would think LL Bean would make sure the water bottles they are selling fit in the pockets of their backpacks. The pockets are so short I don’t think any bottle will stay. The color and all the interior pockets and holders are great, but the durability doesn’t feel like the one we bought several years ago. The side pockets feel like cheap mesh that won’t make it through middle school. Not impressed for the price.

Overall great backpack
This pack was purchased for daughter (middle school). Great storage spaces, loves the padding to support her shoulders and back and of course the mesh water bottle pockets. One thing that we did not like is the opening at the top of the middle compartment for our guess is headphone wires —who uses these still in the age of Bluetooth? Hoping this will not end up being an entry point for rain…overall she loves the pack minus this one detail.
