4.9 out of five
This is a very nice technical hard shell with great features. It has plenty of pockets, inside and out to keep items safe and accessible as needed. The powder skirt is nice to have on colder days to keep the wind out. Internal cuffs also seal out cold drafts. The hood is big, which is great if you want to fit it over a helmet, and adjustable for use without a helmet. I've hod no issues with waterproofing: so far I find it nice an dry. I would take a tenth of a point off for the fabric being a bit crinkly, but not annoyingly so. One caveat is that the jacket is ideal if you're looking for a packable warm weather rain jacket, this is probably not the best bet for the money, but for cool to cold outdoor sports, its a winner.

Great Jacket
XXL Tall 6’4” athletic build downhill skier. Purchased in the fall of 2025 for the up coming ski season. Already have 30 days of use during our epic NE ski
season.Typically wear with base layer and vest. Full functionality. Zippers work in all conditions. The hood is over sized and is fully adjustable and allows to zip up to cover face with gator on over helmet. Powder skirt another bouns. Only design change I would like to see is netting for the arm pit vents. Useful pockets and locations inside and out

Best jacket for tall skiers
I bought this jacket 2 years ago and I am glad I splurged and spent the money. I am 6’3” and 210 pounds and wear it primarily for skiing. I’m usually a large tall at LL Bean but I sized up to an XL tall so I would have room for layers. I typically pair this shell with my ultralight down jacket and a wicking long sleeve base layer when it is 25-35. Add a fleece vest if it’s colder and substitute a fleece jacket if it is warmer. I wanted something that was flexible for temperatures, waterproof, and durable and this does it. I appreciate the sleeve pocket for the RFID cards used at most resorts these days.
