One problem
In all but one way, this is a very nice coat. The problem, inadequate pockets. Too small to be useful. Returned it.

Never disappoints!
This is the second field coat I've bought for my husband. (He went down a size.) Like the first coat, the quality is exceptional. It's his go-to jacket when the air is cold and damp outside. It also does well in light rain. The pockets are plentiful and roomy. It also washes nicely in the washer and dryer. It's a classic that won't go wrong for you.

Older design
Natural fabrics and construction are very good. Its biggest drawback is its design, as it does not close up that well in windy conditions. I wish Bean used the same materials in a different style, a windbreaker maybe.

Great fabric, well made coat for outdoor work
This is my second field coat. I volunteer with Brooklyn Botanic Garden. When I started working in the rose garden and got scratched and poked I remembered my old field coat and ordered it again. It is the perfect fabric to work in a garden.

A very nice, quality coat.
Heavy duty fabric, yet soft and pliable. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, is the thread used to sew on the buttons. It is not heavy enough, they should have used button cord.
