Worth the price
Like most L.L. Bean products this sweater stands above almost empty sweater you could buy. Tested in the cold of a Minnesota winter. It held up. It’s bargain by keeping me warm.

Definitely "fitted" but gorgeous!
First off, I'm a 5'0' 125# woman. I love the shawl collar, the feel and the look, esp in a cotton (blend) sweater. But ...there are no female versions of this!
NOTE to L.L.Bean - how about a woman's version of this? Please?!? And more colors too.
So keep this in mind when reading my review.
Purchased a Small, where in Women's I usually wear a Medium; my usual sizing go-to's. It fits, but... A bit tight for a sweater, definitely a "fitted" look. The wrists are quite snug and again, I'm a small woman, I'd think a man's wrists would be larger... But then I have arthritis so maybe I'm sensitive. Snug but not too tight. Obviously it's a little narrow at the hips so I just "ruch" it up towards my waist. That works. I really like the shawl collar on cold days, adjustable to stand up, or not, as well as its cool look.
If buying this online, esp as a gift, I'd definitely recommend sizing up! If for a young, slim, fashionable man, the usual size will probably work, esp if he's not apt to wear a layer beneath. But if for someone with some add'l belly &/or slouch, you know what I mean, or if desired more for comfort than fashion, I'd definitely suggest going up a size.
Nevertheless it's a really comfortable sweater, tho not so much a typically knit fabric. More like a very thick waffle weave maybe? Some stretch but not much. I'd definitely rather use this in brisk, windy weather to keep out the cold and wind rather than a typical knitted sweater. Say for outdoors, raking leaves, watching a game. It's really lovely. I do really like and recommend it.

Feels good ..but
I had to take off 2 stars because this sweatshirt is short and it shrank more after washing.. husband liked it until he realized it was so short....I ended up keeping for myself

Too loose at the bottom
We liked the sweater, however there was no “fit” to the bottom it just hung there and looked big.
Should have been fitted and gathered somehow.
