We took our softest, bestselling fleece and added a hood and extra length for exceptionally warm, exceptionally cozy comfort and great coverage.
When our designers saw a photo of a USA team member wearing an L.L.Bean fleece on the historic 1990 Mount Everest International Peace Climb, they had to recreate it. Still our softest jacket ever, we've created many versions that all maintain the key features: just-right breathability, warmth and an adventurous spirit.
- In an ultraplush blend of 60% recycled polyester and 40% polyester.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Hooded for extra warmth and weather protection.
- Two handwarmer pockets.
- Elastic binding on hood, cuffs and hem.
- Droptail hem is slightly longer in back for added coverage and warmth.

Could use some tweaking
First of all, it's a nice, warm jacket and I love the color, zips on pockets and close-fitting hood. However, it could stand to be a bit longer, including the sleeves, and the pockets sit at the waist, making it a bit awkward to insert my keys & phone. I ordered size Small to make it more form-fitting, but the style of this jacket still makes me look like a chubby bear.

Bizarrely short and boxy
This is the most off-kilter item I have ever bought online. I agree with other reviewers that it is extremely short (both length and sleeves) and boxy. So much so that it felt like a kid's jacket. Very unflattering. The Sailcloth Heather is darker/more taupe in person, and the piping material is quite gray. For reference re: the photos, I'm wearing a size XS (and am 5'6"!). On the bright side, the material is very soft. I'd say it's lightweight.

Size down!
I tried this on in the store so I knew what I was getting here. It is thin but very warming for cool fall weather. I've been wearing it with a long sleeve shirt and it's kept me warm when outside temps are ranging from 45-55 degrees. It definitely runs large so size down. I am 5'7" 155lbs and needed to get a small instead of my usual medium
