- Shell: 100% nylon.

warm but shedding feathers
I bought this coat last October to replace the same model I had before - was wonderfully warm but my clothes got covered with feathers every time I wore it. This was especially very obvious when I wore dark clothing (fleece and wool items were the worst). I kept using throughout the winter hoping the feather shedding would stop, but it did not; I will be returning the coat and getting another - and hope the next one does not have the same problem.

Worth every penny
Women’s Baxter State Parka I love this coat. Glad I took the chance. I’m not a fan of the cold so this was perfect for me. We had a lot of 20 something degree weather here this winter and this was a blessing. The inside straps are great like if you’re in the mall and don’t want to carry your coat. You can use them like backpack style which was a great idea LLBean 🙌

Warm but zipper and feathers problematic.
Bought this for a trip to Norway to see the Northern Lights. It kept me warm and dry, but only when I could get the zipper up quickly which was maybe half the time. And when I took it off it left many of it's feathers on my sweaters underneath. Just not happy with this particular coat so sadly will be returning. Not up to Bean's usual high quality.

Great winter Jacket
Jacket is light weight, but warm. Can easily be layered depending on how cold it is. The fact that it is water repellent is a great feature when it is snowing wet snow. I do enjoy the jacket.

Really warm and windproof
Very warm and wind proof for Chicago winters and cold football games.
Lots of pockets. Nice hood for a quick cover. Good zipper which can open at the bottom, too! Second one in 15 years. One drawback, little feathers from the inside get caught in woven sweaters.

Baxter parka
This coat replaces a Baxter parka years old. It has had improvements. Softer, just as warm. Snaps by the hood are secure. If you read an alternative review, note that there are two kinds of snaps that line up to fit. They work fine. The zipper is smooth and also lines up. Great coat with good fit and not too bulky.
