Field tested in the extremes of New Hampshire's White Mountains, our classic insulated Baxter State Parka was built for serious wind and cold. Updated with new fabrics, it's now lighter, stronger -- and just as seriously warm as ever.

- Rib inner cuff: 90% acrylic/8% polyester/2% spandex.

Very Warm Jacket - Exceeded Expectations
First time wearing the coat was for tailgating and a football game in 8 degree temps. Outside for 6 hours in single-digit temps and the coat was very warm. It is effective at stopping wind and cold. I wish I would have bought this coat a few years sooner.

Bad zipper
I have been a loyal customer of ll Bean for decades
I have never had any issues with LL Bean products until now. I purchased a black Baxter State Parka 4 years and and within 2 years the zipper failed at the bottom. I ordered a replacement thinking it was a fluke but that zipper too has failed . I noticed several zipper issues when I looked through reviews. I hoe LL Bean reads this review and does the right thing

Terrific Parka!
You want warm? This is the parka for you! It's not overstuffed like some other parkas, making you look and feel like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Plenty of large pockets also to hold gloves, etc. I wish it had a small zippered pocket or two for wallet or phone but that's minor. And the hood is large enough to block out wind from the sides of your face.

Warm and comfortable!
Super warm and lots of pockets. Long enough to keep my backside warm. I live in northern Wisconsin and winter came early, glad to have this coat.

LL Beans Baxter State Parka
Received it minutes ago,,tried it on,,fits me perfectly,,I did not know about the straps on the inside so the coat can be resting on your shoulder while inside a building so you won't overheat,,great option,,outside pockets are deep enough,,ie drop pockets,,plus zippered pockets & the chest & waist/bottom to keep personal items secured,,inner cinch pulls at the inside waist on both sides to cinch in the coat for a snug fit,,reasonably priced also

The Baxter State Parka II is a very warm winter parka that, in addition to keeping you warm, will protect you from the wind and rain. The parka has all of the features that make it a coveted garment; plenty of pockets, nice length, not too heavy/bulky, cuffs in sleeves, hood and a really good value when on sale. And now LL is offering free shipping at certain levels of purchases.
