Update to earlier review.
The previously posted review was generally negative, however, after using the jacket for several days, I have to say that the minor complaints posted in the previous review are just that, minor. The outstanding characteristics of this jacket are the extremely light weight and flexibility/freedom of motion. Tested in single digit, windchill conditions, and remained quite warm indeed. Recommended.

insulation value is OK but other features lacking.
The jacket seems to have adequate insulation value, but a couple of gaps are noted. First for a jacket that is stated to be a wind beater, the sleeve cuffs have no elastic function or straps to snug them down, so they are an open pathway for wind to blow through. To be more accurate there does seem to be some slight elastic function in the cuffs, but you would need to have at least 12 inch circumference wrists for this to take effect. Second, the zipper, which has been the source of complaints in other reviews, is extremely flimsy/lightweight for a jacket of this size and intended function. Yes, it appears to be a YKK zipper, which is good, but it needs to be a zipper with a much more robust tooth as is typically seen on jackets of this type. Given the difficulty of engaging and moving the zipper it does not inspire confidence in a long life for this garment. Unfortunate since I wanted to like this jacket.

Great Jacket
Purchased as a gift and the receiver absolutely loves the jacket. Has been used for skiing ("I've never been so warm and comfortable while skiing") as well as for out and about, walking the dog, etc. Great jacket with all the features (great pockets, pit zips, adjustable helmet-compatible hood). Expensive, but worth it.

Very warm and comfortable
I've had the jacket for a few days now and love it so far, the fit is great I typically wear a L but wanted extra room so opted for an XL. The padding is very comfortable and the jacket packs down enough that I can shove it in my backpack when not in use. My only concern is I am not sure how strong the material is against rip protection in the woods vs GORETEX but time will tell. So far it's a win.

Great fit!
I am a large tall. Great length and fit. I have board shoulders and have trouble with jacket size, usually I'm in between sizes, and fit thru the upper arm shoulders. The shoulders articulate great and the fit is spot on for my longer arms and torso. Can't wait to test it out when it's really cold.
