thicker and warmer and wonderful
As a knitter I knew that the stitch used in making this requires more yarn to make the fabric than a plain, flat stockinette stitch would, and thus that it would be warmer than a plain sweater and have more give to it as you move and more resiliency to eventual wear and tear. All of these things were true. It also means it cost a little more to make. It's a fabulous sweater, and even better after the first gentle hand wash in lukewarm (not cold--it's temperature change+water+agitation=potential felting, you want as little movement as possible and lukewarm water.) I did that to clean out any residual coatings mills use to keep stray fibers and wrong colors from blowing all over and into other yarns. Lay flat to dry. I bought a size medium because I like things generous. It was exactly what I'd hoped for. Mine is the dark purple.

So Comfortable
I ordered the Women's Classic Cashmere Sweater because I heard they are very comfortable. I found it to be true. It fit's perfectly and is a beautiful color. The only thing I can say bad about it is the price at $159. However, I got a catalog discount offer of 15% off plus a gift card, so that helped bring the price down.
