Rated 5 de 5 de par 1924 Field Coat It's great! I love the great buttoned-down look it presents. A very good buy.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Older hands Love the jacket. Fit, feel. The way it's developing a 'look'. Can't button it at times. Getting better with use. Snaps, for older hands perhaps?

Rated 5 de 5 de par Early Christmas? I purchased this jacket for my husband for Christmas. He loves it so much that he couldn't wait until Christmas Day. He had to wear it "just for our grandson's hockey game", but then he wouldn't give it back so I could wrap it. He especially likes the way the back pleats provide him with great movement.

Rated 5 de 5 de par the old school is the best school :) This is my husband's new favorite thing in the world. Waxed canvas is hefty without being heavy, waterproof without being plastic, warm without being cumbersome. From about 50 degrees down to just above freezing, or even a little below with a good thick sweater, this is the perfect coat for keeping the weather out and looking great doing it. It's just so nice to find something functional that's not made out of nylon or polyester.

Rated 5 de 5 de par 1924 Field Coat is Heirloom Quality I recommend trying it on in person and comparing with the other field coats L.L.Bean offers. This one seems nicer, more refined than the regular, while the regular might be better for outdoor work as a chore coat. I believe the buttons are intended to be loose in order to allow the coat to be more easily buttoned up, similar to other button coats I own. It does not look like they are about to come off. I wear size Large or 42 and the large fits well so I would say fit is true to size. The fit finder recommended I get XL which would have been too big.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Well made, rugged, stylish A good looking, lightweight coat that stops the wind and keeps you warm better than you'd expect. I really like the way this coat looks on me, and it's extremely comfortable. It's perfect for weather from 55-60F down to 30 (if you have a sweater on underneath). Only niggle is that the pockets aren't big enough to hold a grouse, but as I'm not a hunter, this is no big deal for me!

Rated 2 de 5 de par Not the color shown in the photo The color is not the one shown in the photo. It's a dark butterscotch. I don't like it, but my wife does, so I'm keeping it. But why not show the real color in the photo, or exercise some quality control when the product comes from the factory in an unexpected color.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Love it but for the length of the corduroy cuffs This is a really, really good-looking coat. I live in Southern California, and this is about all I need in the winter 95% of the time. If it's raining, or in the low 40s, I wear a puff jacket underneath and add a scarf when necessary. The Millerain coating on the jacket keeps me dry and comfortable. My one and only criticism of this coat is the length of the very cool corduroy cuffs. They are a forest green and when they're turned back they totally up the look of the coat. Only problem is LL Bean made the cuffs only about an inch in length, so when you turn them back the brown arm liner pokes out. Also, you can't really button up the cuffs with them turned back. Bottom line: These cuffs need to be at least 2 inches in length, so that when you turn them back, they stay turned back and lookin' slick. Years ago, I had the regular current Field Coat, and it had brown corduroy sleeves. As I remember it, they were long enough to turn them back--and they stayed turned back. That said, the quality of the cloth in that coat just wasn't the same as this coat. This one rocks, and comes out of the box looking wicked good! Dear LL Bean, please go back to to the "old-new way" of making this coat with longer corduroy cuffs. If you do, I'll buy another--and give this one to my little brother--who digs the heck out of it and covets mine! That said, I've told him the coat won't look as good on him as it does on me, but when does a little brother ever listen? Final note: If you're my height, you'll need the Tall length.
