Great coat, but buttons pop off
My partner bought this for me in an LL Bean store a couple months ago. Overall I'm very happy with it, but the buttons (at least the three big buttons on the front) were very poorly attached. Within a day the thread was visibly fraying, and one fell off within the first day or two of me wearing the coat. A second one popped off the next time I wore it when I bent down to pick something up (I'm not that fat!), and the third one was clearly threatening to flee as well. Fortunately I didn't lose either button (and there's a spare sown on the inside of the coat), so I just didn't wear the coat until my partner was able to reattach all three buttons with mattress thread for me, and now I feel like it's perfect. But plan on reattaching the buttons yourself!
I haven't had any trouble with the other, smaller buttons (cuffs, collar), but I haven't tried fastening or unfastening them, either. But the thread holding them on doesn't look frayed the way the thread of the three front buttons did from the beginning.
My partner got this for me for late fall/early spring days, or mild winter days, because I already have a thick long heavy coat for bitter-cold days. Button problems aside, I'm really happy with the design; it's not bulky but fairly warm and completely blocks the wind, and it's full of convenient pockets.

What a great jacket; instant classic. Perfect for fall and spring with plenty of room to layer. 5’11 170 and a medium does the trick. Looks good out on the town as well

Nice Looking Coat
Just received this coat today- it's nice looking and seems extremely well-made. I can tell I will probably need to reinforce the buttons with some heavier thread or fishing line before wearing it regularly, but I do that with most outerwear that has to be buttoned and unbuttoned regularly. I'm looking forward to wearing it when it warms up a bit.
I will note that the color on the website reflects the product to be a much lighter color than it actually is- it's more of a mocha brown rather than a golden tan color. This actually works well for me but other users may want to take note.
