What happened?
I bought this rugged quilted dog blanket several years ago and it's been outstanding, truly rugged, held up to daily abuse from my dogs and repeated washing. That's exactly why I came back to buy a second one.
Unfortunately, the new blanket I just received is a completely different product. The quality drop is dramatic, if I hadn't ordered it from LL Bean myself, I'd assume it came from a budget marketplace site. At the price point, that's unacceptable for a company whose reputation was built on lasting quality.
LL Bean's legacy was "Guaranteed to Last." Based on the difference between my old blanket and this new one, I'd encourage anyone considering this purchase to look closely before buying, and I'd ask LL Bean to explain what changed.
Two stars, not one, because my original blanket deserves the credit. The current version doesn't.

Dog bed/pad
We have several of these. Just love them. We like to wash once a week. Wash up really well. They are a little on the expensive side, but so well made.
