A seriously soft and substantial hooded sweatshirt in a long-lasting cotton/polyester blend. Our heavyweight fabric is brushed on the inside for an extra-cozy feel.
The Katahdin Iron Works operated in the north woods for much of the 19th century, employing thousands of hardworking Mainers. Inspired by their grit and strength, we designed our Katahdin Iron Works line of rugged work clothes to stand up to all kinds of rough use.

Nice Fit
Very comfortable, warm, and fits well. Allows a layer underneath without feeling tight. Zips easily and pocket sizes are generous. Hood ties snugly around head.

Fabric cold to touch
SS is soft, comfortable fit, obvious quality fabric. Zipper is hard to start. It is VERY heavy. Heavier than most coats I have. It is cold to the touch and as worn. Does not give good insulation vs much less expensive SS's.

Zipper doesn't work
I bought this Sweatshirt for my husband for Christmas. The zipper gets stuck in the seaming at the bottom and can only be put on and off over the head. Otherwise, the material is very nice.

Heavyweight hoodie
As usual, very well made sweatshirt. Heavier than I expected but that's hard to determine from a catalog. Fabric is not as soft as my other Bean hoodies but OK. Just know it is a very warm sweatshirt.

Thin & Expensive
I bought this but returned it. It was a thinner fabric, and the fleece was not as dense as I had hoped for. Especially at that price.
Also, I’m on the lean side at 6’1” and 175lbs and a Large was too tight around my shoulders.
