Product Details
Our legendary boot - beautifully crafted in buttery-soft, gently tumbled leather in an easy-to-wear Chelsea design.
Whoever says, "they don't build things like they used to," doesn't own a pair of these. Our iconic boots are still sewn right here in Maine one pair at a time by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair they make. As rugged and hardworking as they were over 100 years ago, chances are you'll only ever need one pair.
- Iconic triple-needle stitching provides long-lasting durability.
- Pull-on loop and stretchy goring provide easy on/off (goring not waterproof).
- Waterproof rubber boot bottom keeps feet dry.
- Uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
- Premium full-grain leather upper is gently tumbled for a remarkably soft, broken-in feel.
- Legendary chain-tread outsole gives reliable traction.
- Not designed to stay submerged in water.
- Best for rain, mud and other wet conditions.

Floppy fit
Upper leather doesn’t secure around ankle or lower leg. Very floppy fit.

Can't get it to fit!
10 1/2 too small - 11 WAY too big. Gave them away.

Great looking boot , but not a good fit !
Something is not quite right with the fit ,or production . I always wear a size 8 and the boot felt like a size 9/10 … I felt like it was mis marked , so I ordered a 7.5 . The fit was still not correct and the right boot was definitely smaller than the left boot . I sent them back yesterday.

Great slip-on Sorrell!
Very comfortable because I went with the suggestion to order one size smaller.

Bean Ankle boots
Too loose and wide for someone with narrow feet and with laces, floated even after returning for a full size less than normal. Have had Bean Boots with laces in past but slip on boots were not a good fit.

On A Scale of 1 to 10...
1. SO nice to open the box and the boots FIT!
2. I should have ordered a size UP instead of the same size as womens boots. Clearly there is no standardization between the two.
3. They fit better than my old ones but I can't step into them, or maybe that will come with use.
4. I conditioned the leather for waterproofing because I'm a slob in the outdoors.
5. I also replaced the insoles with shearling for insulation purposes...I have worn my other ones in sub zero temps and my feet were very cozy. (with heavy wool socks)
6. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give them a 9, because nothing is perfect.

Horrible fit
Horrible fit, opening is so large it’s as though they designed it to fall off your foot. Go buy Sorels and save your time and shipping fees.

Nice concept but poor execution
My experience with the Bean Chelsea boot is to only go down a 1/2 size from what you would normally wear if you wear a wide (EE) shoe. A full size down is too narrow at the ball of the foot, although the heal width is fine. If these boots came in wide width a full size down would have provided an excellent fit (the lace up Bean boots fit perfect in my normal wide width size).
A Chelsea style shoe should fit like a pair of western boots with about 1/8 inch heal slip. The heal slip in these boots is far greater than that. They fit more like a pair of slippers than a Chelsea boot. Maybe providing wide sizes would help this. The width and length of the elastic upper opening doesn't help with the fit either, it is way too big.
If you are looking for a pair of boots to wear like slippers for quick excursions outside, these are great. Anything more than that, such as real yard work, hiking, farm work, etc.) these may not the boot for you as the fit is too sloppy, at least for a wide width foot.
