Too many cons with this backpack to recommend
I have taken this pack on quite a few hikes but ultimately I'll be doing away with it. The items that annoy me the most have me shopping for another day pack are as follows:
-- The side pockets for water bottles do not secure items sufficiently. They're too shallow and items fall out all too easily
-- The straps that connect the stuff pocket interfere with unzipping the main compartment. I often will need to unbuckle those straps to be able to unzip the main compartment.
-- The hip belt pockets have hardly any room for much of anything. They get in the way more than provide any significant facility. They're an unnecessary component in my opinion.
-- The water reservoir is too small and difficult to use.
I really wanted to like this backpack but ultimately, I think LL Bean should stick to clothing and not try to slap their brand on a backpack as poorly designed as this one.

Great pack, Iceland trip
I bought this backpack to take with me and my partner on our trip to Iceland. We did multiple hikes daily in the wind, rain, and sun. This pack did everything I could have asked for and more: lots of space for bringing multiple layers for unpredictable weather (wind/rain shell, mid layers, hats/ winter hats, gloves, etc.) on one of the days we went under a waterfall and the bag got soaked like it had been submerged in water, along with having to walk back in the rain, both my phone and camera stayed completely dry. The pack dried up in an hour or so. Overall, this is a great quality bag for day hikes. The chest and waist straps work well and make the bag very comfortable, and I look forward to using this bag on many future trips.

1)Beautiful color 2) expands vertically by adjusting side pockets’ straps 3) comfortable and cushiony straps .
Cons
1)Hip belt packets are for aesthetic purposes only. At best I can put two Chapsticks in one and several Klinex tissues in the other. 2) Water Bladder Reservoir compartment alone with water hose opening are way too small. My water bladder is only 1.5 L and I’m struggling to fit it in.
I truly wanted to love this backpack, but will be retiring it.

Excellent Bag W/Good Pockets
Purchased this bag prior to a trip to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. Has several convenient pockets - one vertical zippered pocket is great for passport & a few other items. Very good padded belt w/ wide belt buckle and zippered pockets. Comfortable to wear. Two small quibbles: first, the zippered pockets on the hip belt don't close all the way so small items could fall out and the zippers don't lock. The second small quibble is that you really have to tighten the water bottle holders on either side to make sure they don't fall out. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could but it is still better than any similarly sized daypack out there.

Very nice hiking day pack
I wanted a day pack with a waist belt and this one has worked really well. Used it for several hikes 6-8 miles long. Great size, lightweight, and several external pockets. The waist belt has helped tremendously with back pain. I guess minor comments would be that I found it a little difficult to get water bottles back in sleeves and the storage on the belt is too small for much of anything. But overall, very satisfied with this for hiking!

Loving my 26L Ridge runner pack. Very comfortable on my neck and back for those long day hikes. I'm "Beaned" from head to toe. Warm and comfortable.
