Doesn't really trap moisture
I was very disappointed. It does nothing to soak up the muddy pawprints from our dogs. It's good at catching lint but doesn't begin to meet my needs.

Functional and attractive
I really like this mat. I replaced it with a mat (not a LL Bean brand) that was flat on the bottom and it didn't allow the water to drain from under the mat. The LL Bean mat has little rubber teeth like things on the bottom that help keep the water drained from underneath. I use this mat on an uncovered stoop so it gets wet when it rains! I purchased the doormat size with dog bones, I love the pattern. As usual, LLBean has quality merchandise.
