Great for European Hiking Trips
Bought this as a replacement for a 12 year old LL Bean backpack. The chest strap anchor slipped off during the West Highland Way and LL Bean gave me a full refund for my old pack plus an extra $10 towards this purchase! This pack is very similar to my old pack.
Despite the omission in the descriptions, this pack does come with a rain cover. In a sea of Ospreys and Deuters, my old LL Bean pack's raincover kept my stuff dry in Scotland when many others were complaining that their stuff were getting wet.
In addition, the pack has the following:
- floating lid which will let you adjust the capacity of the pack from probably around 30 L to 50 L
- Internal frame measures 21 in x 12 in (H x W) which will give you the option of using the pack as a carry on for international flights
-main compartment divider which will allow you to access the lower 1/3 of the main compartment through a separate front zipper
-rear loading straps
-side zipper access to the main compartment
-opposite side zipper leads to a separate smaller compartment (I keep my snacks here)
For WHW, I carried my pack on the plane and bought cheap hiking sticks once I landed. Other packs that would let me carry 2-3 days worth of stuff are too tall to qualify as carry-ons. This pack would be ideal for those headed to Europe who don't want to check a bag.

Rugged product. Holds a lot of stuff!
This was a gift to our 11 year old great nephew who just became a Boy Scout. His first weekend camping trip just happened and the backpack was a great success. Great product. Looks good, too.

Large Ridge Runner Pack
Fit is good and will hold what I want it to hold.
There are lots of pockets and zippers and an attached tag to give ideas of WHY the pockets and zippers were included would be helpful.
