Cozy and comfy!
Great base layer, not sure if I’d trust it alone but it kept me so warm and cozy during my ski trip (and wasn’t overheating me either). Excellent at keeping my body temp a comfortable level.

Fabric shreds while maintained with care
I wanted to love these, I had trust in LL Bean's brand to sell quality item. The truth is these are not made to last. While simply pulling these on, my thumb went right through the fabric and I have stubby fingers not pointy fingers! After a couple months there are shreds everywhere. I only wash these and my other wool base layers in cold, sometimes warm. I've never put these in the dryer, only line dry. They are comfy and keep me warm enough when layered with wool socks and wind resistant outer layer, but I must say they don't have a lot of stretch around the calves. The fabric is also a bit see-through so these are strictly base layer, not an outer layer.

Stretched out very quickly after first wearing and didn't come back after washing. Wide waist band is a plus.Not noticeably warmer than fleece leggings though thin enough to wear under pants

Scratchy and stinky
I wanted to like these, but eh. The fabric is scratchy, the wool smells horrible in the wash and as it line dries. Overall all the fit is a little stiff. I like the color and kept them to layer over, now I wish I’d returned them.
