Great coat, but not durable
I bought this in olive just over a year ago. I love the coat - it is very warm and looks great. However after only about a year, the seams in the sleeves are beginning to wear with small holes and frayed areas. It's beginning to look distressed amd I have treated it very gently.

I purchased the sweater/jacket because it is the perfect fit for our winters' here in Northern California. UNFORTUNATELY, THE SIZE ORDERED IS TOO SMALL WITH A SWEATER UNDERNEATH> I HAVE TRIED TO GET A WOMENS SIZE PLUS 3X IN ANY COLOR< BUT YOU ARE OUT OF STOCK> PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF/WHEN YOU WILL HAVE PREFEREDLY SIZE PLUS LODEN 3X. Sleeves are long enough for me!
I just received my jacket today! I couldn’t be happier…loads of room for a sweater underneath, spacious armpits, very tailored. It looks fantastic on me. Was really worried about ordering online…it’s truly a quality item!

LOVE THIS JACKET. WARM BUT NOT AS BIG , BULKY AND EXTA WARM AS THE PARKAS. NICE AND ROOMY EXCEPT AT THE BOTTOM. STILL CAN WEAR LAYERS. PERFECT FOR THE MORE MILD NORTH CAROLINA WINTERS. LOVE THE WATER PROOF OUTER SHELL.

Update on my 2023 Review
I had written a review back in 2023 lamenting the fact that Bean did not offer this jacket in petites. I didn't think to just order it and try it on. Well I finally decided to throw the dice and ordered it a couple of weeks ago in the greenish brown Loden color. It's very rich looking. It's beautiful and actually fits! Even the sleeve length and body length are fine. If it helps someone I am 4'9 105 lbs. I ordered the XS. Someone mentioned that the arms and armhole are a little snug. I agree. I can just wear a light sweater under it but will have no wiggle room if I even put on 5 lbs or more. I saw many petite commenters complaining about this jacket not being offered in petites. I encourage you to try it. It just may pleasantly surprise you. Best of all it doesn't look like the standard down jacket uniform of the PNW. It can definitely be dressed up or down.

Incredible coat! (Pet owners beware!)
I bought this coat for a warm winter / cold spring in NYC. Worked great for about 25-50 F. Under thirty, you’ll need a thin sweater. Arms and shoulders are tight, L is definitely a 12, not a 14 (women’s). Also works in anything but full on rain storm. Love the minimal down, that is so warm, combined with the (incredible) waxed cotton, is a toasty treat. And if you’re hot, just unzip. Completely worth the price, I’ll wear this for at least 20 years, if I’m alive. #lol

Lint hair magnet
I was so excited to get this jacket. It fits pretty well. The problem is it attracts lint, dog hair etc. It’s like a magnet. It looks horrible all over the jacket.
