This great-looking traditional outerwear combines the rugged durability of waxed cotton and the warmth of down insulation. Tough British Millerain waxed cotton is water resistant and highly abrasion resistant.

The best jacket I didn’t know I needed
Wasn’t even looking for a jacket when I found this, something I didn’t know I needed. It’s warm, stylish, and durable. Most importantly my wife thinks I look great in it!

Problem with pockets
The hand warmer pockets are located at the bottom hem of the jacket, and are not comfortable to use. The jacket is otherwise good, but I returned it because of the pockets

Great jacket but with flaws :(
This jacket for some odd reason is listed as a sweater. It is definitely a nice jacket and is comfortable and warm. I wear it with a sweater or a button down and it really keeps the elements out! I love this jacket however there is a major flaw. Bought this jacket in September 2024. I wore it all winter of 24, 25 and not the beginning of 26. My only problem is the jacket is coming apart on the cuffs and sleeves and on the pockets. I am not in the trades and I wear this jacket to the office. It wears to easily at the sleeve and cuff. It unfortunately didn't make one season without it having the problems shown in the pictures. I still love the jacket and it's warmth and look. I still wear it but I'm disappointed that in less the a year it had the wear it did. I would give it 5 stars if it had held.up.better on the arms. Wish it held up and lasted longer! Buy the jacket but be ready to love it but be sad when it starts wearing!

Great Combo of Old and New Schools
Excellent warmth for weight. Not bulky and does well over layers. Good to around freezing temperatures by itself. Much better than the puffy down jackets that are so common these days.

Absolutely Perfect
This Down Sweater--"The British Millerain Co., Ltd." is the perfect fit, weight, warmth, comfort and appearance. Inside and outside pockets, zippered and buttoned, are ample. Although, the word "Sweater" is part of the garment's full title: "Bean's Upcountry Waxed Cotton Down Sweater," for me this is a jacket of immense character, warmth, and function. Had there been more than three colors to choose from, I am certain I would have purchased them all--that is how much I like wearing this jacket. If there are any remaining in stock, I highly and, without hesitation, recommend looking into to adding one or two to one's wardrobe.
