Our most technical ski jacket combines the lightweight warmth of our Primaloft jacket with a wind- and waterproof shell, keeping even the most adventurous kids warm and dry. Zip the two layers together or wear them separately for all-day protection.
- Mesh lining is 100% nylon.
- Lightweight 100% recycled polyester insulation provides warmth without bulk.
- Wind- and waterproof shell is abrasian-resistant and made from 100% recycled nylon.

Not warm
Last winter, I bought my son an LLBean down coat that was supposed to be very warm. It was not warm, and also was not waterproof. I still had confidence in the quality of LLBean's coats back then, so I bought this coat for him to WEAR ON TOP OF the down LLBean coat. If he wears the down coat as a base layer and this coat on top, he is warm and dry. Add it up, and that is about $400 of coats needed to create a single functional coat for a child who will outgrow them in no time. I no longer have confidence in LLBean coats, so I want to make shoppers aware of the problems with them in hopes of keeping others from throwing good money after bad.

Solid buy, 3rd one.
Would give it a 4.5 for slow main zipper but other features round up to 5. Just got Mulberry of this coat, size Kids' M. Did XS and S of this coat in previous years.
Pros:
-3-in-1 is great
-Have always held up to lots of use and washes
-all pockets zippered
-Liner zippers are smooth.
-Liner sleeves and collar are dark mulberry (see images of other colors to see pattern).
-Hood has velcro loop to stash it (does not fully remove like older models).
-Primaloft liner does not hold fur, fuzz like fleece version.
-Sleeves seem long until you bend arms, then you have room to move.
Cons-
-Main zipper is not smooth, just OK.
-Seems to fit a little slim to body. Good for skiing, may be too slim for some.
-Prefer a fully removable hood, but not a deal breaker.

Great coat but watch out for that zipper!
Great jacket… well made and nice quality fabric. Hood has plenty of room for a helmet. Overall happy but for a kids jacket, at this price point, it has a few flaws.
The zipper is very hard to pull up and down. My 9 year old has an hard time with it and so do I! And the top of the zipper, which has a fabric cover, rubs up against my sons chin. He had cuts on his chin after a day of skiing. He’s never had this issue with any other ski coat.
This coat will last, and my son is very happy with it, but I think llbean can make a few design tweaks to make this 5 stars!
