I bought the other shearling boots a few years ago and love them, but these do not hit around the top of the ankle in a comfortable way. It puts too much pressure there because of the seam. I tried wearing socks but that didn’t help. I gave them to my daughter who could use them.

Heavy on good and light on wicked
I purchased the boots recently but the first impression is very good. The thickness of the fur is unexpected and it made it snug at first but it relaxed after one day to a very high level of comfort. I recommend no socks in order to enjoy them fully.
