Believe the conflicting reviews
I treid this jacket in store but unfortunately they did not have my size so I ordered it. When you read one review say the fabric was lightweight and another called the fabric stiff and hard, both can be ture. In the store the jacket was the most comfortale cotton ever. The jacket i received was so stiff I think it could almost stand up by itself so I returned it. On-line returns are quite simple with LL Bean . The other thing to note is that the drawstring waist sits much higher than a person's natural waist otherwise the style is gorgeous with the shirt tail hemline.

Great jacket for changing seasons
I ordered an XL because sometimes L.L.Bean clothes run a little small or the sleeves are short on me, although I normally wear a L. That said, this jacket runs quite generously, and I probably could have ordered my usual size.
It’s a great lightweight jacket for spring and fall. It’s versatile enough to dress up a little or keep casual, and I really like that it doesn’t feel bulky. Overall, I’m very happy with it!
