Uh-mazing!
So glad I took a chance on this jacket. I had intended on buying a size large, but it sold out while I was still debating the purchase. Luckily I had read a review of someone who was near my height and weight, at 5'4" and 159 lbs and ordered the medium, after reading it fit them perfectly. As luck would have it, it fit me perfectly as well. Loving that the shoulders are wide enough but still give a tailored appearance. Dare i say its somehow magically slimming and elongating. Its my favorite level of casual, put together looking with zero effort. Loving that it is longer and covers the backside over tighter jeans. Loving that the material has the slightest bit of stretch to make it comfier on. Loving that the material seems to be a perfect cross between heavier canvas and a light-weight spring jacket. Overall I was thrilled that it still gives that military vibe, while feeling polished. The gray is stunning, and feels like the more I launder it, it will eventually get that cool distressed look I adore. This was a home run for me and may be back for the green. We'll done LL Bean!

Believe the conflicting reviews
I treid this jacket in store but unfortunately they did not have my size so I ordered it. When you read one review say the fabric was lightweight and another called the fabric stiff and hard, both can be ture. In the store the jacket was the most comfortale cotton ever. The jacket i received was so stiff I think it could almost stand up by itself so I returned it. On-line returns are quite simple with LL Bean . The other thing to note is that the drawstring waist sits much higher than a person's natural waist otherwise the style is gorgeous with the shirt tail hemline.
