I actually like the coat, but you should have your manufacturer put smooth fabric inside the sleeves completely to the shoulder. Very hard to put on with flannel shirt, sleeves bunch up at my arm pit. Hard to shake the sleeves back down. Also I have always been XL, needed XXL and it is a bit tight. Made in ????. Small people?

I agree with the size issue
I also had to go up a size compared to all the other LL Bean coats I have. Warm jacket for sure but it needs an inside pocket. Still a good purchase regardless.

Poorly sized and cut
I purchased an L.L. Bean Maine Ranger parka 1 month ago and the large size was a perfect fit for me. So, when I purchased this Men's Bean's Down Jacket, I again ordered the large size assuming the sizing and cut within L.L. Bean's men's coats would be consistent. While the sleeve length and neck size of the Men's Bean's Down Jacket were good, the sleeves and body of the jacket were extremely tight. Felt like I was wearing a boa constrictor. So, I returned the jacket and did not reorder an extra large because then the sleeve length and neck would have been wrong. It is incumbent on L.L Bean to be consistent in their sizing. Extremely disappointed.

Sizing needs some adjustment
This jacket is warm and it looks great. A tight fit, though ,even though I ordered a size larger than I ordinarily take. (Thank goodness for these reviews!) It's tough getting my arms through the sleeves without my shirt or sweater riding up past my elbows.

Almost perfect
A lot to like about this coat. It looks good. It does what it claims in cold weather. The zipper never gets caught in the fabric (a real bug of mine.) The only problem is that the arms of the coat are a little tight for me and I have skinny arms. It’s hard to put on when I wear a heavy flannel shirt. That makes it less useful in really cold weather. I think a man with reasonably large arms would have a really tight fit.

Change the liner please!
Great jacket! It is warm, and the color and fit are great. The liner is a flannel material and it makes it difficult to put on and more restrictive when moving about.
