Our original SunSmart™ apparel, Tropicwear was first introduced in 1992 to protect destination anglers from the hot tropical sun. Customers quickly discovered Tropicwear wasn't just for fishing, using it for just about anything outdoors. It's been updated with a better fit, new stretch woven fabric that's softer and better ventilation. Best of all, Tropicwear still provides UPF 50+ sun protection, or about 10 times more than a white cotton tee.

Great shirt for playing in the sun!
I sun burn very easily so I got this shirt for protection while on vacation. Works beautifully!! It's cool, light weight, and can be worn over tank tops. Just one thing, watch out when pressing. The L.L. Bean stamp will melt off. Mine now reads L. Bean. :)

Disappointing
I bought this for sun protection on a trip to New Zealand. I wanted to wear it over tshirts or a light dress for sun coverage. I've been buying LL Bean clothings for 50 plus years. I bought a larger size than I usually purchase. It was so small. I couldn't wear it alone and it certainly couldn't be used as sun protection over even a t-shirt. I was very disappointed.
