Our original SunSmart™ apparel, Tropicwear was first introduced in 1992 to protect destination anglers from the hot tropical sun. Customers quickly discovered Tropicwear wasn't just for fishing, using it for just about anything outdoors. It's been updated with a better fit, new stretch woven fabric that's softer and better ventilation. Best of all, Tropicwear still provides UPF 50+ sun protection, or about 10 times more than a white cotton tee.

Petite medium fit me perfectly. Love it for its sun protection and I can roll up the sleeves with the tab if need be.

A trusted staple that has improved over time
This is the third long-sleeved tropic wear shirt I own (the other two at least 10-15 yrs old) and all have become my go-to shirts for working in the yard. I really like the improvements that have been made to this latest version (back vent is vertical rather than horizontal, built-in sun protection, small zip pocket, vibrant color). The only negative is the LL Bean reflective logo that appears above the left breast pocket. I normally don’t purchase clothing with such prominent advertising and would prefer not to. Please LLBean, isn’t it enough that your customers purchase and wear your products? Must we be forced to blatantly market your brand, too?

Great Quality and Very Versatile
My husband has an older version of this shirt in blue and has been wearing it for over 20 years. He got this in green for a safari and it s even better than the old one, with a slightly thicker fabric.
