Our original SunSmart™ apparel, Tropicwear was first introduced in 1992 to protect destination anglers from the hot tropical sun. Customers quickly discovered Tropicwear wasn't just for fishing, using it for just about anything outdoors. It's been updated with a better fit, new stretch woven fabric that's softer and better ventilation. Best of all, Tropicwear still provides UPF 50+ sun protection, or about 10 times more than a white cotton tee.

I love this shirt!!
I travel to SE Asia twice a year, so sun and heat protection is essential. I have several of these amazing shirts (pants too) and wouldn’t be without them! They truly do keep the sun off and they breathe, keeping a barrier between my fair complected self and the elements. Even when I’m home I wear these during summer months when the sun is brutal.
Fit is good, they wash well. There has been a time or two when, after returning to my hotel room exhausted, I have used the bathroom sink to wash these spf clothes, hang to dry in the shower, and they are ready to go 24 hours later.
Highly recommend!!

Nice features to help keep you cool
Haven’t yet worn it on an all-day outing, but like it very much for the several shorter hikes it’s been on. Although the color has “silver” in the name, I find it more like cream and it goes with just about everything. The light color also stays cooler than darker shirts.
