Built for day hikes on all but the steepest and iciest terrain, the Pathfinder BOA Rec snowshoes are our easiest to use snowshoes. Bindings feature a single dial BOA Fit System that's specially designed to deliver a micro-adjustable, precision fit on most winter boots. Unique L.L.Bean frame shape allows extra flotation and a rockered tail makes for easier walking. Strong manganese steel crampons bite into ice and firm snow.

36” snowshoes are good for big people w/small feet
The BOA mechanism seems to work okay at 20F. However, the cables might be good for only a size 11 beefy boot like a 10” Oboz Bridger insulated boot or a size 12 or 13 Bean boot.
A size 13 Bridger is very difficult to almost impossible to put into the binding while wearing it. I don’t have that difficulty with the more expensive non-BOA Men’s MSR Lightning Ascent (also available from LL Bean). Perhaps the BOA cable will stretch a little with time - but I won’t count on it
In short, the binding cable on the 36” snowshoe should be better sized for the footwear of the intended user (.i.e. presumably the larger, taller snowshoer ).
This product should be good for fairly heavy people whose feet are not “XL”. People with “XL” or larger feet may be restricted regarding the style of boot that they can wear with the current BOA binding cable

So much better
Such a big improvement over my older LL Bean snowshoes. I used to get freezing cold fingers struggling to secure my boot soles to the snowshoe before I even started. Now a quick turn of the boa mechanism and it’s done. And I recommend getting the poles too. They’re excellent in deep snow.

Simply the Best Evah!
As a very avid lover of snowshoeing, these snowshoes with the Boa Rec bindings are the best! I am thrilled with my purchase! If LL Bean sold snow to extend winter a few more weeks in the Northeast, I'd be buying it for my 2x a day treks on snowshoes. The Boa Rec bindings make on / off soooo easy as they tighten or loosen all three points of contact (toe, arch, and heel) with one click and a few turns of the dial. The frame of the snowshoes is also top quality.

Glad I bought them
My old wooden LL Bean snowshoes which have served me faithfully since mid-1980's finally gave up the ghost. I loved the way these new snowshoes performed. They were so stable, even in some pretty deep snow. Loved the crampons at both heel and toe.

Sturdy and Fun!
Great snowshoes. The way the front binding works on these Pathfinder are better than dealing with all the staps on the Winter Walkers. Really like thst the poles collapse forstorage in the included travel bag for the snowshoes.
