Great bag. Needs a zipper.
Bought this a couple months ago, and I love it. However, it needs a zipper on the top. It gapes open and is a little untidy. Otherwise a solid, quality tote for everyday use.

Great for work or school
I first bought this bag in Khaki, but a month later while browsing the L.L.Bean website, I noticed it was available in my favorite green—so of course, I had to exchange it. I needed a tote for teaching that could hold my laptop, iPad, coffee mug, water bottle, and other essentials, and this bag turned out to be perfect. It has dedicated compartments for my laptop and iPad, plus two great pockets for my mug and bottle, along with plenty of space for everything else.
I’m obsessed with the Thyme color—it’s my favorite shade of green, and most of my L.L.Bean items are in this color, so I’m thrilled to have it in this bag too. The only thing is that I noticed a price difference: the online price was about $20 higher than the tag on the bag. I don't know, I’ll be reaching out to customer support about that, but aside from this, it’s truly a fantastic bag for both work and school. I absolutely love it!

Great Bag
I bought this bag to bring my laptop and files back and forth from home to work. I like the internal waterbottle holders. I was afraid the shoulder straps were going to be too long but they feel great while using them. I like the leather handles for holding when in more formal situations. Overall, great bag. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great but needs a zipper!
I purchased this bag and the design was great with the exception of not having a zipper for the main compartment! Other's have registered the same comment. The leather handles separated from the canvas base, so ultimately I returned it. Now, they've raised the price and STILL not added a zipper to the main compartment. The bag is tall and top heavy. I had the bag tip over a few times and the contents spill out everywhere. Most annoying! LL Bean says they respond to product suggestions from customers. I haven't seen that happen in this case. The bag is not worth $120!
