the test will be this winter
I got these boots to be a quick on-off option for our frequent dog walks on a plowed gravel road usually covered with ice and snow. These will be for use when there's no deep snow. I bought them in August as they were on sale and have only used them a small amount so far. My usual shoe size is 9.5 and I purchased 9. They seem a little roomy when worn with my normal winter wool socks that are not that heavy. I put an insole in the boots and that helped so hopefully they'll be fine. Zip-up boots need to be roomy enough to get on easily but not loose once zipped up. For me these are a bit too loose when zipped up. I think they'll work out but I won't know until this winter.

They will do
As long as they don't come apart at the seems in a couple three years they will serve me well. The red liner tongue is ugly and the heel is a bit small but I think they wanted to make them look like girls boots for men. I like that they zip up and close the top it will help keep snow out. I doubt I would have bought this pair had they not been about 50% off. Remember LL Bean men like men's clothes

Bad Design, Bad Fit, Bad Construction
Very disappointed in this American made product. Neck of the boot is at least two times wider than it needs to be to either wear trouser legs over boots or tuck them in with any degree of dryness. Sizing advice said to buy a whole size smaller…. I wear an 11 1/2…..I bought an 11 since half sizes were not offered..and I was swimming in them. Most disappointing was the fact that the zipper on the right boot was improperly sewn into the upper, causing the leather to bunch up at the throat of the boot. I’ve never given an LL Bean product 1 Star until now. Design, fit, and construction all unsatisfactory.

Good alternative to Sorels
I am on my second pair of these boots and purchased them initially as an easy pull on boot in the winter. Live in the mtns and get tired of bulky Sorels. These are great, warm and actually wear them daily. Only drawback, I only got 2 yrs out of them and one thing they don’t mention in details is this boot cannot be resoled so when they are done you have to purchase a new pair. I do recommend the product just wish the sole could be replaced

Bean Boot 8" Front Zip Lined Men's
I have several pair of Bean Boots and I am satisfied with all of them. This boot is easy on and off and the quality is unmatched. The front zip also holds the boot in place with no sliding up and down.

HAVE NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WEAR THESE YET, AS IT IS MID SUMMER IN MONTANA.AFTER TRYING THEM ON . MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THERE NOT OFFERED IN A WIDER SIZE. BUT WHAT SOLD ME ON THESE BOOTS IS THAT THEY CAN BE REBUILT. THATS GREAT IN MY BOOK.DWB.
