Great for Splitting Wood!
I bought these mittens to wear while chopping wood. They are terrific! My hands stay warm and protected. I am able to grip the wood, wedge, and sledge hammer. The mitten’s knitted inside liner is separate from the outer waxed material and leather shell. It is easy to put on the knitted mitten first and then put on the outer shell mitten. It is also possible to put on both mitten and liner at the same time, but sometimes the thumb takes a little finagling to get both parts aligned.

Warm Hands Cycling
I cycle year round and living in the Pacific Northwest it may not snow but it can get cold. I have winter gloves but my hands were always getting cold. When I thought “mittens” I searched online and found these. I’d stared a ride with my gloves, packing these along just in case. Within a half hour’s ride, I stopped to switch and immediately I felt the warm. Now, every ride begins and ends with these mittens.

XXL not as big as you'd think
Material was great, construction was very good. My only issue, The XXL mittens are long enough but not wide enough. I have large hands and I wasn't able to get them on. That's the only reason for the 3 stars.

Thumb too tight
These mitts would be great except the thumb is weird. It is too tight where the thumb meets the rest of the mitt.

Too small
These run very small. Normally wear a L or XL. Even the XXL was too tight for older arthritic hands.

Warmest gloves ever
These gloves are some of the warmest I’ve ever had. And there are two for one because the liners can be worn separately as woolen mittens. The fact that they have a natural skin in the palm, helps with traction while you’re driving. I grew up in Chicago where it could be -50 with the windchill and I’m sure these mittens will keep me warm this winter!
