Not good for warm climates like Florida
This product started off great and I kept it outside in the sun for just two seasons. It didn’t stand up to the sun and the thin wood spreader bar split. LL bean also would not warranty it as they said the split bar was “normal wear at tear”. If you plan on bringing it inside every time that you use it I guess it would be good. It’s just not durable and LL bean won’t warranty it.

FYI Duracord is not cotton but synthetic fibers.
I am in the market for a cotton hammock, had to chat with someone at LL Bean to get the information this is made out of synthetic fibers. They weren’t able to tell me if it was chemically treated to be anti mildew but my guess is yes.

Poor Quality
I should have done this a few years back. I purchased a hammock at approximately this price point a few years back. Don't know if the same quality now. My hammock began following apart the 2nd Summer. I purchased another hammock at a 1/3 the price from another retailer that lasted 5 years. I have been a very loyal LL Bean customer and have been extremely satisfied with my past purchases except the hammock.

We’ve only had this for one season so I can’t speak to durability yet. It’s comfortable and big enough for four grandchildren or one 6’ grandfather.

The Best Hammock Around
I buy a new L.L. Bean hammock every few years and can’t wait to enjoy it as spring turns to summer. Very well made, with classic looks. You can leave it out if you’re lazy or take it in at night for longer life.
