Best ever mens shorts
I bought these shorts 25 years ago and am still wearing them! They are so versitile- for hiking, running, swimming, casual events, and everyday short pants style. The zippers , Velcro ,snap, belt all still work as they are designed to do. I have worn these shorts on all continents, except for Anartica! They will not disappoint.

Awesome for hot weather!
Yes, the pockets are a bit shallow, but what are you carrying? My keys and minimalist wallet fit perfectly in the zippered pocket. What I'd love to see are more colors - olive green and black specifically. I'd definitely buy more!

Idiotically shallow pockets
Side pockets are ridiculously shallow, to the point of being unusable. The cargo pockets aren't tall enough to hold an iPhone and close properly. Design fail.

really great shorts
I've worn similar LL Bean shorts for several years now and they fit and feel great. The one weakness the older ones had is the mesh pockets which developed holes when my key ring pulled at the threads. The new ones have better pockets and feel as good as the older ones. One slight drawback is the side pockets are shallow and my cell phone tends to slide out. There is a zip pocket behind one of the side pockets and this secures my cell but is a bit more awkward to access it. Otherwise, a great product.
