Flannel lined Bean Boots
I bought these boots 5 years ago and I still love them.
Fit: I wear 7.5D and bought a pair of size 7D. Fit perfectly. Mind the sizing suggestions from LL Bean.
Materials: The pebbled leather upper was soft and pliable. No break in needed. Looks great too. The rubber sole has held up well. All seams and stitching are still tight.
Comfort: My initial comcern was that the soles would not provide enough cushioning for my old feet. Walking around all day in them is not a problem. No discomfort at all. Serious hiking? Not enough cushioning but I didn’t buy them for that. I didn’t expect flannel to provide serious insulation. Kept my feet warm & dry down to the teens. I have heavier boots for colder conditions.
Final thoughts: I bought these to wear around town during the winter and they are perfect for that. They keep my feet warm and dry. I love that they are made by hand in Maine. I love the history of Bean Boots. Highly recommend. Mind the sizing suggestions. I see wearing these forever.

Classic boot!
Bought these for a Christmas gift and they were back ordered a couple months. Just got them a few weeks ago. My husband loves them and says they’re warmer than expected. A friend wants a pair now too! Good buy!

Great Boots!
Great boots! Very comfortable right out of the box. When in doubt on size, go smaller. I normally wear 12.5 or 13.0 but for my Bean boots I went with 12.0 which fit great. So they do run a tad on the large size.

Poor construction
There was no rigidity to the upper portion of the boot. Once the foot went in the base boot fit in alignment with the sizing. However no matter which lacing method I used the upper portion was not constructed right and flopped over and looked ridiculous. I tried to buy a liner to give it more support but that didnt work. Do not recommend.

As expected.
I wore out my last pair of cheap winter boots and decided to buy the last pair I'll need, instead of just another pair. These feel like the boots. I wear a size 7.5 in a popular brands sneakers and the size 7 Been boot fits perfect. The flannel lining is just the right amount of insulation to make them way more versatile than just a winter boot. Pair them with thinner sock and I feel like you could wear them in a summer rain storm just fine, throw on a pair of medium weight merino and some hunting socks over that and you've got great all day cold protection, which I have done. There's plenty of room for layers just by loosening the laces a little. Plus they’re American made and can be resoled, so they're well worth the investment.
