A new twist on a nautical tradition, our Irish fisherman washed cardigan sweater features a flattering shorter length and a more fitted style in cotton yarns.
The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. From good luck to a plentiful catch, special sentiments were represented in each and every stitch. We've recreated those same authentic cable patterns in a fitted yet easygoing silhouette.

This is NOT a short cardigan!
I ordered two of these cardigans (large and extra large) about a month ago in the port washed color expecting them to fit like the pictures online. I am 5' 5" tall and weigh 130 lbs. I ordered the larger sizes for a looser fit to be able to wear a shirt underneath. Both sweaters came down over my hips and covered my rear....this was NOT a short cardigan. The top portion of the large fit me perfectly. So many styles vary dramatically in fit these days. Perhaps LL Bean should list the length of the garments in their size categories as the pictures don't always represent the true fit. Models vary in height and weight. If I would have known how long they were, I never would have ordered them and saved myself the trouble of returning them. The color and quality was excellent but not if they do't fit.
