The result is a premium technical jacket that is perfect for all outdoor adventures.

Top of the line rain jacket
After receiving the jacket I thoroughly inspected it all while trying it on for size and I felt compelled to write a review. The jacket material and fabrication is top tier even for it being made from recycled material. The Kelp green color is matted which is beneficial as an additional article of clothing for those who are apart of a uniform service such as Park Ranger / Environmental Protection Agency / Game Warden etc. The jacket is true to size if you are not disproportioned in body mass . I had tried on a medium thickness pile fleece under the jacket and there was amply room still for mobility . I took it a step further in regards of layering and added a light weight puffer down feather vest over the fleece jacket and then place the Gore Tex rain jacket over it which was still comfortable. The hood of the jacket is wide brim which gives the wearer the ability to wear larger hats like a trapper hat / bombardier hat and even a safety helmet. The color of the jacket is matte and the logo is subdued in matte black. The jacket is roomy along the shoulders and upper torso but can be form fitted by the waistline by simply pulling on the cinched elastic tab around the seam of the waist . Pockets are fairly generic in size and placement like other brand companies that have GoreTex style rain coats. The key feature that separates LLBean’s jacket from its competitors is that the jacket has button open/closure side seams which gives the ability for hunters / campers /mountaineers / wilderness emergency service personnel access to a sidearm , utility belt and operating hand held field radio. The jacket has on the left arm a hook & loop velcro patch which wearer can affix a patch of their desire for display. One feature of the jacket worth noting is that the hemline has a anti abrasion black fabric to reduce wear and tear. Ventilation zippers are easy to slide after a couple of times of unzipping and zipping when article is new. Two points I like to make is that it would have been nice to have a shoulder pocket sleeve for small item storage . Second point is that with rain coat fabric being naturally slick it would be beneficial for the wearer if there was anti slip/grip silicon heat transfer applied to the shoulder board so that way back packs will not easily slid off shoulders while trekking. Overall great and promising jacket to keep you dry in wet /snowy weather conditions.

great jacket / bad zipper
Was looking for a decent rain jacket that didn't feel like wearing a trash bag while working outside. Liked the look of this jacket and expecting the same LL Bean quality with all their other garments.
Unfortunately the front Zipper was impossible to zip up and even an exchange didn't remedy the problem.
Won't stop me from being an LL Beane customer but unfortunately this jacket was a dud

Best rain jacket ever!
This is the best rain jacket I’ve ever owned. Certainly a lot of careful thought went into its design. The size medium, slightly fitted, was just as I was expecting, and I can fit a small vest underneath it if necessary. The front features a two way zipper, and the snap buttons on the sides near the hem at the lower edge provide multiple options. I like the zippers under the arms for when I’m dealing with the heat of late spring, summer, or very early fall here in North Texas. Finally, great color choice - boty natural and low key.

Great jacket!
Lightweight. Definitely blocks wind, wet. Roomy enough to fit over an insulated vest. You can feel the quality. Has all the bells and whistles you’d want.
