Not too hot, not too cold, Just Right!
These lined pants are comfortable, great for hiking, and warm enough without getting too hot when I've worked up a sweat. The pockets are essential for my ability to carry phone and keys conveniently, without adding bulk (side pockets) and to add a little money or credit card if I want (smaller and lower side pockets, back pockets) I like having a choice whether to make the cuffs fit snugly (elastic) or more like jeans. I have several pairs of these in different colors, some lined, some unlined for summer. They have held up well in the washing machine.

Disappointed
I bought these as a replacement for a similar pair I've had for four or five years. My original pair is no longer available -- they're ones that had the black and white check lining. They're just about perfect, and still holding up well after many many wearings, amazing for staying warmer in the winter. They don't fit at the moment, so I bought the closest I could find. Several difficulties, most of which others have mentioned: The elastic tie for the waist is so stretchy that I cannot get it tight enough, resulting in me needing to pull them up often. The cuffs have a pull that should cinch them tighter, but there doesn't seem to be a way to keep the pull secure except for tying it? The front pockets aren't deep enough. The fit for me is not as flattering as the old pair. And most of all, they are not as warm as the other pair I have. Once I'm buying lined pants, I want them really warm even if that makes them a little bulky.
A good number of reviews complain that they start pilling. Mine have not pilled, yet. I've washed them twice. I am probably keeping the pants because I have not been able to find a replacement, and even with my complaints, these are still better than not having any.
I'm a longtime L.L. Bean customer. I'd really love it if these pants could be improved.

Good but not great!
I have four pairs of these pants. Two are made in the older style with cotton fabric, cotton drawstring and binding on the pockets. The two new ones I have are lighter for sure which is nice, but the fabric snags. Especially when walking thru the woods with thorny vines, etc. The zippered pockets are most uncomfortable and they scratch my hands every time I put them into the pockets. And last, I don’t understand the waistline cord being made of stretchy fabric. I have to pull the heck out of it to tighten the waist. So, that’s my two cents - I miss the prior ones.

excellent temperature
I bought my usual size and the lining didn't add bulk, but added just enough heat. This is my go-to pant for other seasons so glad to have lining. Even over base layer, the fit was excellent.

Love these pants
I purchased these pants for cold-weather outdoor walks and workouts, but found I love these pants for both outdoor and indoor (in)activities! I have pretty much worn these every day since I received them, sometimes regretting when I have to take them off on laundry day.

Great to use as snow pants
