The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. From good luck to a plentiful catch, special sentiments were represented in each and every stitch. Longer shoulder to waist length
Could be longer. I ordered a 3X to get longer arm length and to get a longer shoulder to hip length. The length from shoulder length to hip should be longer.

Wanted to like, but…
This looked so cute on the model, but I found some things that other reviewers noted that made a difference for me. The main thing was that the section with the loons was a much heavier knit than the adjacent sections. That made it buckle in a weird way. And it is very heavy in weight, not necessarily warmth. However, I’m petite and the regular was a perfect fit. I feel with a couple tweaks it could have been great. And I might have kept it if it hadn’t been so expensive.

Fits like a potato sack feels just as nice
Ordered this because I was in love with the print. I wish I hadn't. The fit is terrible and the material is stiff and uncomfortable. I thought it might soften up in the wash but it did not. I'd pass on this one. It's WAY over priced for what you get.

Color and pattern combo
The washed orchid fair isle is a lovely combo of a folk pattern in a soft yet rich color. It goes well with jeans or dark dress pants. Paired with the faded sage check shirt, it makes a classy outfit for work or
