This rugged upland hunting vest features classic waxed-cotton styling that gains a vintage patina as it ages.
There's nothing like the classic ruggedness of waxed cotton. We worked with the originator of waxed cotton, British Millerain, to develop this premium vest that's equipped with everything you need for an upland hunt.
- 100% cotton.
- Do not machine wash or dry. Wipe with damp cloth. Do not dry clean.
- Waxed cotton shell fabric is highly water resistant.
- Large, lined front entry game pouch holds 3 or 4 large upland birds like pheasant.
- Durable fabric withstands heavy brush and briars.
- Waist length provides good protection and all around comfort.
- Upper hand warmer pockets for cradling a shotgun; reverse welt helps keep water and debris out.
- Generous cut for layering with full range of motion and unimpeded gun mount.
- Lower shell pockets are large enough to each carry a box of 12 ga.; 5 ammo loops inside each.

Discrepancy of care but otherwise very nice
I bought two of these and returning the larger size. The medium fits perfect. I have to say, solid product. Great material, design of pockets and buttons, very nice and happy to have it. But I have to point out that the description on the web says you can machine wash and throw in the dryer thanks to the new style material. Yet on the vest itself, it says on the tag for care “ Do not machine wash or dry. Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not dry clean.” I’m afraid to put mine in the washer and dryer now if needed later down the road.

Very Poor Customer Service
Overall, a fantastic vest. The material is heavy, wind and waterproof. The game bag is superior to others I have owned. My complaint: The stitching on both sides at the top of the shoulders has started to unravel. This was my second season with this vest. I only carry 6 shotshells per side and nothing else. I contacted the company about this and their response was," We don't have any record of your online purchase." End of story!! I have repaired the stitching myself but I will never buy or recommend LL Bean products to anyone.

Excellent garment
I ordered a size large and received it. I could have ordered a medium and still had space for layering. However, it is a great garment and I'm not sending it back for any reason. Quality workmanship and it wears very well.

Not what I Expected
Not what I expected. Not suitable for my intended use. Vest is well made. That is the reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1. The vest is amazingly heavy. Not something lightweight which I can throw on and go walking. Obviously just made for the hunter. The fabric is stiff and non yielding. Given this the buttons are difficult to operate. For the hunter this is a great vest. For the cruise / motorcycle rider this is a non-starter. I’ll probably donate my vest to the Goodwill.

It is not 100% cotton. The lining is plastic. It is missing the hand warmer side pockets.

Poor stitching in shoulders
I bought one shoulder sewing ripped on 2 time out, they replaced it 1st hunt it ripped again ,I have a old on ,25 years old it's fine just a little small ,where did the Craftsman shop go.
